Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems presents an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Engineer Systems Test - System Test SME (25-242) to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. Relocation Assistance is not available for this position, and this role is on-site with no remote options.

Responsibilities

  • Self-starter with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with government customers, as well as personnel both internal and external to the program.
  • Plan and analyze all MDS ground tests and flight tests in which the C2BMC program participates.
  • Develop and implement necessary test artifacts for each event including test objectives, architectures, and data item descriptions.
  • Support planning phase reviews and meetings.
  • Support customer boards and meetings.
  • Support Data Management Interface with developers.
  • Support government personnel during event execution phases when requested.
  • Support anomaly resolution and troubleshooting.
  • Support the analysis group.
  • Support Failure Review Boards (FRBs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline) and 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM-related discipline and 3 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience instead of a degree.
  • Current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • At least 1 year of prior experience on the C2BMC program in any capacity.
  • Technical knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS), including sensors, shooters, command and control systems, and networks.
  • Prior integration and test experience within the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program.
