About The Position

Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Principal Engineer, Systems Engineering in Melbourne, FL. International travel to India two times per year. What YOU will do Develop and execute a project plan which includes scope, schedule and budget. Responsible for the capital budget; planning, procuring and managing capital equipment and expenses. Support department-wide systems testing for all of the Traffic Department products, both new development products and collateral products (sustaining engineering). Serve as the Tools Development team's Cost Account Manager (CAM). Establish and maintain the project baseline plan. Provide work authorizations. Identify and manage risks and opportunities. Analyze performance utilizing Earned Value metrics. Monitor and status progress, briefing leadership on project status (no less than monthly). Proactively manage risks and opportunities. Perform program analysis and initiate any necessary corrective actions. Oversee baseline change management. Perform Capital and Material Management. Coordinate with vendors for equipment cost estimates. Estimate capital needs per annum. Create and submit capital requests and justifications. Procure, track, and manage new equipment. Develop test automation features, support debugging of failing systems level tests, and develop station documentation and configuration management processes. Perform systems tool development and updates using LabVIEW. Develop test procedures, perform test dry runs and formal execution. Generate new LabVIEW, Python and PyATE applications to support systems testing.

Requirements

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Avionics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of progressive experience as a Systems Engineer or related role in avionics product integration and verification.
  • In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Avionics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or related role in avionics product integration and verification.
  • Must possess at least 5 years of experience as a system verification engineer, including developing verification test plans, test cases and procedures and execution of both manual and script-based requirements based verification of avionics products.
  • Must possess at least 5 years of experience with safety critical product development for the Avionics/Aerospace domain.
  • Must possess at least 5 years of experience with analysis of systems of moderate to high complexity, such as systems with multiple sub-systems with multiple hardware components or mixed electrical technologies and software programs.
  • Must possess at least 5 years of experience with Systems requirements development, analysis, and decomposition.
  • Non-US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
