About The Position

Communicate with clients, establishing goals and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client. Provide technical expertise on multi-disciplined projects as a design leader, QA/QC reviewer, or technical advisor. Supervise and support the work of others while mentoring junior-level engineers and technical staff. Work directly with clients to determine needs and deliver solutions and lead the growth of client relationships with target clients including DC Water and WSSC as well as other regional utilities. Lead/Support teams in the marketing and proposal phases of projects including preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations, as well as developing scopes of work and budgets for various water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. Travel will be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field of study
  • 15 years of water, wastewater and/or stormwater project experience
  • 5 years of experience managing municipal water/wastewater and/or stormwater management projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Strong client management skills
  • Proven project leadership and management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Experience managing client accounts
  • Experience supporting client development efforts
  • Experience leading project pursuits and pursuit teams collaboratively across a variety of opportunities
  • Strong team leadership experience
  • Active participation in regional or national professional associations, industry activities, and conferences
