Microchip Technology’s beautiful Oregon campus is seeking a qualified, motivated and creative Photo Process Engineer to help the Process Engineering Department at Microchip's Fab-4 manufacturing facility in Gresham, OR.

Requirements

  • You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
  • 4+ year degree preferred (Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials or equivalent), or equivalent semiconductor industry experience, military training or technical degree
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • May need to attend work-related meetings or perform tasks on unscheduled days
  • Able to lift 20 lbs; push, pull approx. 50 lbs; carry 20 lbs; sit 60%; stand 20%; walk 20%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing.
  • Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors

Responsibilities

  • Write and optimize wafer inspection recipes to detect yield and reliability limiting defects
  • Characterize defects using SEM microscopy and EDX elemental analysis
  • Review statistical process control (SPC) results for process variability and capability
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve wafer poor yield or scrap issues
  • Provide feedback and support of Process Engineering experiments
  • Work as a team with fellow employees to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality
  • Write equipment process specifications and inspection defect reports
