The IT Order Management System (OMS) Team is dedicated to providing world-class OMS solutions for Costco's global business, enabling an unparalleled omni-channel member experience. The Principal Engineer holds a pivotal technical leadership role, steering the strategic vision and technical design of Costco's global OMS platform. This role will help design, develop, and implement a highly scalable and resilient cloud based custom OMS platform, and provide hands-on technical leadership to product engineering teams charged with this rare opportunity. This is a dynamic role requiring collaboration across multiple business and technical stakeholders, and incorporates broad and diverse knowledge spanning technologies such as multi-tenant distributed systems, cloud services, containerization, database, caching, security, API and event-driven architecture, and more. The candidate will bring thought leadership in designing and implementing applications and platforms in a distributed cloud architecture in public cloud spaces such as Azure or Google Cloud. In addition, the Principal Engineer will foster a growth mindset for the team to enhance their technical knowledge and skill set.
