Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Join our Manufacturing Supplier Quality Engineering team in Andover. This high visibility and on-site position will be a quality engineer role who drives continuous improvement with focus on resolution of any supplier material nonconformance impacting the factory. You will ensure effective root cause and corrective action implementation for supplier related issues. You will be a key player working with team members in Operations, Quality, Program management, and Engineering to solve problems on our nation’s most advanced defense systems. You will also contribute to the overall vision of reducing the impact of supplier nonconformance issues in the factories. No relocation assistance is available for this position.

Requirements

  • Typically requires Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or Math and a minimum of 8 years of Quality Engineering, Manufacturing engineering, Supplier Management or related field
  • Experience with root cause analysis to identify systemic issues and implement permanent corrective actions
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, customers or partners (both internal and external to Raytheon)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
  • Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and delivery
  • Experience with Export/Import Compliance procedures and regulations
  • Varied experience with different product technologies (electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, energetics, CCAs)
  • Experience interpreting drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines, tool control, and hardware inspection
  • Experience using either Aerospace or commercial equivalent Preventative tools – APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, etc.
  • Experience with commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and standards - i.e. AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, ISO-9001, AS9145

Responsibilities

  • Your on-site presence will allow immediate response to potential issues with supplier material and be present for factory tier meetings and working seamlessly with the Operations and Quality teams in each value stream.
  • You will primarily support the Andover Site to alleviate and resolve supplier caused disruptions and provide additional support to other factory areas when needed.
  • Engage in improvement activities to reduce supplier caused rework.
  • Driving continuous improvement in how we resolve supplier nonconformance issues, reducing their impact on the factories.
  • Ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are fully implemented when non-conformances impact the factory.
  • Use our lessons learned from supplied material non-conformances to reduce future risk across the supply chain
  • Identifying and supporting continuous product / process improvements using statistical / analytical tools such as APQP and lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Working with other Quality functions and cross-functional teams to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills.
  • Systematically translate, analyze, and prioritize customer needs, legal and contractual requirements, variances to predicted/targeted values
