About The Position

As a Principal Engineer I embedded in the Enterprise Data & Analytics function, you will be responsible for delivery and operations of technologies and platforms required to model, transform, analyze, report, visualize data. You'll provide SME expertise in one or more key products and are responsible for managing and supporting the organization's Data Analytics applications and tooling like Power BI/Fabric, Tableau. As a Principal Engineer I, you will partner with data analysts, business analysts, data engineers, report developers, and enterprise architects to provide frameworks, set standards, enforce best practices, train and enable users using Power BI platform. Take assignments that can be worked on individually without supervision and manage work effort from concept to completion. Design, build, optimize, automate and maintain the Power BI analytics platform, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Implement data analytics principles aimed at business enablement, reliability practices and sound recovery procedures. Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and industry standards, including reviewing and refining IT control enhancements. Design and manage Power BI workspaces, gateways, datasets, support business teams with secure, efficient report publishing and data refresh strategies. Support governance and compliance standards across all analytics platforms. Work closely with business and analytics teams to ensure reliable and governed data access for reporting and visualization. Troubleshoot platform issues, optimize performance, and ensure uptime for critical data services. Stay current on emerging data analytics technologies, recommending enhancements to improve efficiency and governance. Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to gain a working understanding of business requirements and operational processes. Act as a thought leader on analytics implementation, end user enablement and training.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience in data analytics administration and development
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required, Masters in related field preferred
  • Advanced to expert experience in managing and administering Power BI environments (Capacity management, User access management, gateways, Rest APIs, workspace configuration, DAX optimization, RBAC set up, Disaster Recovery)
  • Advanced to expert experience with Power BI development (Semantic models, reporting and visualization, DAX)
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or PySpark
  • Advanced to expert knowledge general Financial Services or Banking preferred
  • Advanced proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals
  • Capable of leading and motivating cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level
  • Advanced communication skills, excellent teamwork experience, ability to mentor and develop more junior engineers
  • Occasional travel might be required

  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Advanced to expert knowledge general Financial Services or Banking preferred
