What You Will Do Provide technical leadership for the identification, evaluation, and execution support of rehandling and mine planning optimization initiatives within the Leach to the Last Drop (L2LD) portfolio. Drive leading practice in opportunity framing, economic evaluation, and value capture to deliver measurable improvements to site and portfolio performance. Apply deep subject matter expertise in rehandling, mine planning, and leach operations to work with site Mine Planning and Leach Operations teams to identify new value opportunities, enhance value from planned rehandling activities, and translate concepts into executable projects. Shape complex technical and operational challenges into clearly defined initiatives by establishing assumptions, quantifying economic value, defining resource requirements, and developing implementation pathways and timelines. Support and enable safe, disciplined execution of approved initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Use advanced analytical methods, engineering tools, and sound engineering judgment to optimize mine plans and rehandling strategies. Monitor execution and post‑implementation performance, gather and analyze data to quantify realized value, and embed learnings to continuously improve future opportunity identification and delivery. In this role, you identify, evaluate, and prioritize rehandling and mine planning optimization opportunities, including assessment of technical feasibility, economic value, risks, and alignment with site and portfolio objectives. You lead economic evaluation and value‑capture definition, including development of assumptions, valuation methodologies, resource requirements, and implementation pathways. Partner with site Mine Planning and Leach Operations teams to shape opportunities into executable initiatives, and support and enable disciplined execution of approved initiatives. As a Principal Engineer I, you measure and validate realized value through post‑implementation analysis, confirm assumptions, quantify impact, and embed learnings into future opportunity identification and portfolio practices. You apply advanced engineering tools to optimize mine plans and rehandling approaches, influence strategy and decision‑making, and drive continuous improvement in rehandling evaluation and value‑capture methodologies while providing technical mentorship and performing other duties as required.
