About The Position

Essential Responsibilities: As a Principal Engineer of High Assurance Cyber-Physical Systems, you will: Provide technical program management and knowledge of cyber-physical and operational security systems. Work with GE Aerospace business units and government collaborators to develop and grow programs. Work independently as well as with a team to develop and apply advanced technologies for high assurance cyber-physical systems for GE Aerospace products and services using advanced modeling, controls, optimization, estimation, and detection technologies Interact with hardware, software, and firmware developers as well as systems architects to identify appropriate solutions for the most challenging applications Lead medium- to large-sized projects or tasks Be responsible for documenting technology and results through patent applications, technical reports, and publications Expand your expertise staying current with advances in high assurance cyber-physical systems to seek out new ideas and applications Collaborate in a team environment with colleagues across GE Aerospace and government agencies Shape and lead proposal responses to the GE Aerospace businesses and government agencies (DARPA, NASA, AFRL, etc.) Engage and work with Physical and Information Security organizations to identify and develop the appropriate secure infrastructure to address classified programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 15 years of industry experience; or a Master's degree and at least 10 years; or a Ph.D. and at least 7 years
  • Proven experience developing and deploying high-assurance control and signal processing methods (e.g., model predictive control, system identification, advanced data analytics), including algorithm development and modeling/simulation for complex, multi-disciplinary systems
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required
  • Willing to travel at least 2 weeks per year
  • Must be willing to work out onsite in Niskayuna, NY.

  • Active US Government TS/SCI Preferred Security Clearance
