As a Principal Engineer- Software Development, streamline the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes for all Provisioning interfaces, and deliver business programs on time and with the highest quality by adapting industry best practices. This individual will lead partnership efforts across multiple cross-functional teams, including Network, Billing systems, Field teams, Architect teams, and others, to identify and quickly act on customer feedback. The candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues and partner with others to develop proactive solutions that enable our teams to deliver best-in-class customer experiences. This role will focus on network activation and provisioning systems for the Wholesale business, with quick project turnaround, trouble ticket resolution, and timely resolution of production bugs. You will be responsible for the following, but not limited to: Leading the design, development, testing, and day-to-day operational activities for the Wireless Network Provisioning Systems with a focus on the Wholesale business. Working through the various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, analyzing the critical Production issues, and planning for proper resolution. Providing architectural oversight for Wholesale systems and services. Interacting with the Application Leads and Wholesale business partners to ensure smooth work operations. Analyzing architecture and relationships between systems, and be able to lead an end-to-end design for systems. Troubleshooting production issues and finding an effective architectural solution Deep understanding of Provisioning Applications, Infrastructure & Security architecture, and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, and Availability for the underlying applications. Continuous learning and developing the skills to improve the overall delivery stream and quality of the application portfolio. Developing and introducing new proposals and technology to enhance wholesale business productivity, including automation, process & business enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/ or specialized training.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • Experience with Reactive Java is preferred.
  • Knowledge of concepts of security, privacy, etc.
  • Experience with design patterns, experience with middleware/messaging technologies such as MQ, Kafka, and exposure to event-driven design patterns.
  • Experience in Cloud Computing; Good understanding of AWS architecture and AWS services, including API, RDS instance, and Lambda to build serverless applications.
  • Experience in a Telecommunication background, with network provisioning experience, would be highly preferred.
  • Experience with open-source tools and technologies to replace or integrate with existing systems and architecture that drives and delivers business benefits / superior customer experience.
