About The Position
GTI Energy, the nation's leading research, development, and training organization serving energy markets, has an opportunity for a Principal Engineer to identify, evaluate, and develop new energy-related technologies, with a focus on distributed power generation and microgrids that provide energy resilience, optimize the use of renewables, and reduce carbon emissions. You will conduct field studies, laboratory evaluations, and technical, economic, and market assessments of new and emerging technologies for residential and commercial buildings. The work will involve interacting and collaborating with researchers from utilities, private industry, government agencies, universities, and national laboratories. The candidate for this position will take a systematic approach to develop and lead multiple projects, understand project goals and how they support strategic organizational goals, manage project budgets and schedules, and establish or expand competency areas. The candidate will collaborate with technical staff and external partners on new project proposals as well as laboratory, field, and analytical research projects.
