Role Overview The Principal Software Development Engineer will play an instrumental role in shaping the digital account experience for over 100 million ID.me customers and building the identity layer of the internet. The Verification Platform team is looking to design and build the next generation vendor orchestration platform at ID.me. This platform will serve as the backbone of our verification ecosystem, enabling seamless coordination and management of multiple vendor services to deliver unparalleled scalability and efficiency. We are seeking a highly experienced engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge facial recognition solutions. This role requires hands-on expertise in implementing and optimizing facial recognition systems for real-world applications, particularly in high-scale environments. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering skills and experience working in industries such as healthcare, government, or security-focused consumer applications. This role will work closely with product management to define biometric requirements and deliver solutions aligned with organizational goals. It will also collaborate with external vendors or partners to evaluate and integrate third-party solutions when appropriate. This role is based out of our Mountain View, CA or McLean, VA offices and requires full-time in-office attendance
