About The Position

Role Mission: The Principal Engineer, Aerospace & Defense is responsible for proposing, designing, launching, and delivering profitable aerospace projects. This role partners closely with the Business Development team and customers to support pre‑sales proposal development, engineer scalable solutions, and deliver qualified products that drive growth in aerospace, defense, and space exploration markets. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering
  • Project Management education or certification; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years leading complex Aerospace & Defense or Government projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Aerospace & Defense qualification processes
  • Expert knowledge of filtration, compaction, sintering, welding, and manufacturable design
  • Proficient in GD&T, 3D modeling, and 2D drawing standards
  • Strong project management, planning, customer‑facing, and communication skills
  • Customer‑focused; results‑driven; quality‑minded; self‑directed; analytical; acts with urgency

Responsibilities

  • Engineer custom filtration and flow‑control products from concept through qualification and delivery
  • Serve as a subject matter expert supporting pre‑sales activities, including cost estimating and requirements review
  • Act as a customer advocate to improve proposal speed, accuracy, cost, and technical depth
  • Lead product and process improvements to support successful transition from development to production
  • Deliver new platforms with 95% on‑time delivery and within 90% of cost estimates
  • Qualify 4–6 new projects annually through pre‑sales support
  • Launch two process or product improvement initiatives per year to reduce lead time, cost, or expand capability
