PSE's Customer Energy Mgmt & Renewables team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Principal Energy Management Engineer position! Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil or other appropriate engineering field.
  • Extensive experience in energy efficiency project planning, design, specification review, technical field work, and project cost estimating and scheduling (typically achieved after 10 or more years practice as a degreed engineer).
  • Subject matter expert in electrical or mechanical aspects of energy efficiency.
  • Demonstrated project and/or program management skills managing energy efficiency projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aspects of program development, including understanding both internal and external processes necessary to market, sell, deliver, verify and track energy efficiency project activity.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Extensive industrial energy management experience.
  • Utility industry experience.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering License and CEM or other energy credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and performing all aspects of efficiency projects with business customer facilities for several PSE energy efficiency programs under tariffed electric and gas conservation schedules.
  • Managing and implementing all phases of projects with customers from development through final installation verification.
  • Management of specific programs and initiatives.
  • Negotiations with and oversight of outside contractors.
  • Providing technical and project management leadership to customer projects to produce sustainable energy savings.
  • Performing or overseeing energy audits of industrial and building energy systems.
  • Reviewing facility energy-usage patterns and conducting detailed analyses of complex efficiency measures.
  • Final inspection of completed projects and end-use monitoring of electrical loads with data analysis.
  • Identifying, evaluating, developing, and implementing market-centric programs and related tariffs.
  • Implementing projects and programs while ensuring compliance of all tariffs and financial procedures.
  • Marketing efficiency programs to eligible customers and various organizations.
  • Maintaining positive contractor relationships to ensure positive project development and follow-through.
  • Providing technical expertise to others within the company.
  • Overseeing the work of and consulting with other energy engineers on technical, regulatory policy and financial analyses.
  • Monitoring the development and market acceptability of new energy technologies.
  • Supporting emergency response work as requested.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
