In Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics - whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management. BAE is looking to hire an Electronics Component Program Engineer. This position provides technical leadership in the resolution of complex commodity issues in a design/manufacturing environment. The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be to work closely with electronics component commodity engineers and program teams to resolve component issues in regards to obsolescence, technical changes, part shortages, failures, etc. In addition, the job includes reviewing and approving electronics component selection for development programs. This position requires expertise in electronic components used in commercial and military applications for aerospace and transportation platforms. An ideal candidate demonstrates an extremely positive interest in: > Meeting customer needs including component cost impacts on system costs and schedules/deadlines. > Making informed part recommendations to Circuit Designers that meets application requirements. > Working with suppliers to understand future offerings, their roadmaps. > Working with BAE circuit and product engineers to understand BAE's system needs for future designs. > Working closely with product designers and a Technology Review Board evaluating new part technologies for use in new designs.
