About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer in Indianapolis, IN. The role involves researching, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating, and testing a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. The engineer will conduct experimental tests on equipment and evaluate results, as well as develop specifications for selecting components and equipment to use. Additionally, the engineer may review vendors' abilities to support development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; or Master's degree and seven (7) years related experience.
  • Strong experience with RF system design.
  • Extensive experience with circuit card assembly layout processes and procedures.
  • Experience generating electrical requirements and translating them into circuit design.
  • Ability to fault isolate complex electronic systems and CCAs in a lab environment.
  • Strong background in developmental and qualification testing of electronic assemblies and/or CCAs.
  • Experience writing and interpreting technical reports, requirements, and interface documents.
  • Experience preparing presentation material and presenting to various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Electronic CAD tools such as Altium and PADS.
  • Knowledge in analog and digital design including serial communication, logic design, power design, signal filtering, and wave shaping.
  • Experience with Configuration Management Toolsets for version control.

  • Experience leading teams of engineers and/or related project personnel.
  • Experience running small projects related to electronics system development and/or integration.
  • Experience with reverse engineering electronic and electrical systems.
  • Experience with aircraft armament equipment electronics, DoD weapons systems, or military electronic systems.
  • Experience with Zuken circuit card design tool.
  • Experience working in a small team collaborative environment.
  • Possession of military security clearance at the Secret or above level.
  • Experience with Safety Critical Hardware Design & Analyses.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Defense Acquisition and Logistics Life Cycle Management System.
