About the position

You will provide electrical engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the electrical engineering team. The purpose is to manage a team of electrical engineers and designers and oversee their work on oil, gas, and chemical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of electrical engineers and designers and oversee their work on oil/gas/chemical projects.
  • Plan, organize, and direct engineering work, ensuring on-time completion, safety-in-design and quality outcomes from conception to completion.
  • Collaborate with project management, client, and other disciplines to meet project objectives.
  • May lead one or more projects while providing guidance for other lead engineers within the program.
  • Maintain relationship with project management and client to ensure satisfaction with the quality and progress of the project.
  • Communicate effectively (written, emails, verbal) with the team and with management.
  • Possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills; motivate and create a positive work environment.
  • Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Initiate, manage and if required supervise electrical engineering project requirements.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
  • Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
  • Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Act as the electrical engineering Lead on specific projects if required.
  • Outline project requirements, assign tasks and supervise progress if responsible for a team.
  • Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in electrical engineering.
  • Assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team if required.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

Requirements

  • Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work.
  • Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of electrical engineering and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and electrical engineering specific software, ETAP, PSCAD, SPL.
  • Development and design of electrical distribution systems, equipment selection, protective relay selection, power management system configuration.
  • Perform/review power systems studies and protective device settings.
  • Extensive technical and practical experience in electrical engineering in the same or similar industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
