About The Position

The Principal Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in architecting and developing innovative electrical systems for medical devices. This position involves collaboration with a cross-functional team to bring flagship products from concept to commercialization, while also focusing on technical planning, system integration, and ensuring product quality and performance within budget constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Biomedical or similar field
  • At least 10-12+ years of related experience in complex electronic design and architecture, including experience in Medical Devices
  • Analog and/or Digital Circuit Board Design (PCB) experience
  • Experience with test and troubleshooting of systems
  • Knowledge of IEC 60601 series standards
  • Understanding of design for manufacturability and reliability, with full product life cycle experience
  • Understanding of Medical Device QMS and design control, familiar with PDM/PLM system and change control process
  • Proficient with electronic circuits design, including power, analog and digital components, and applications
  • Proficient with EDA tools for schematics and layout design such as Altium Designer or similar CAD software
  • Proficient with lab instruments for measurement and troubleshooting
  • High initiative, collaborative, self-motivated, and ability to act independently on technical matters
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with electrical safety and EMC
  • Experience in medical device products such as Ventilators, Infusion pumps, hemodialysis/hydraulic system design
  • Experience with project management
  • Familiar with motor driver design, sensor signal processing

  • Provides solutions to various issues in creative and effective ways
  • Exhibits advanced wide-ranging experience to develop and resolve complex models
  • Takes full responsibility for all aspects of electrical and electronic design
  • Identifies and specifies electronic subsystems and boards
  • Documents and analyzes design requirements for implementation
  • Designs, models, simulates, and tests complex electronic circuits, subsystems, and systems
  • Creates schematic drawings, supports PCB layout, generates BOMs and build packages, and coordinates with contract manufacturers on board fabrication and assembly
