About The Position

Reworld is a leader in sustainable waste solutions, providing innovative solutions that help customers achieve carbon-negative outcomes. The Principal Engineer will report directly to the Director of Electrical Engineering and will be responsible for electrical engineering design aspects of capital projects, facility upgrades, and business development projects. This role involves leading and executing multiple electrical projects/programs, providing subject matter expertise, and mentoring junior team members. The position requires collaboration with corporate functions and facilities, with approximately 20% travel across the network, including potential travel to Low-Cost-Countries such as China. A remote work option is available with some travel to Morristown and across the network.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Institution.
• Minimum 10 years engineering experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain future licensure is preferred.
• Experience with High, Medium & Low Voltage distribution systems and electrical power generation in large utility power plants or large industrial co-generation facilities.
• Proficiency in developing and understanding One Line/Three Line Diagrams, DC Control Schematics, Wiring diagrams, GA drawings related to interconnections, substations, power plants and electrical aspects of process plants.
• Experience with all phases of a project including preliminary conceptual system design, scoping, detailed design, equipment selection, equipment testing and start-up problem resolution.
• Experience with protective relaying schemes (Medium Voltage) including coordination and development of relay settings.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as CAD/AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Powertools, SEL Acselerator, etc.
• Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to analyze data, write technical reports, and develop work packages.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SEL relays is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop/review/approve electrical system design documents including One Line/Three Line Diagrams, Control Schematics, Wiring diagrams, Arc Flash, Short Circuit & Voltage Drop Calculations, Coordination Studies.
• Develop scope of work for Electrical AE firms and coordinate with suppliers and contractors.
• Plan design tasks to ensure design and construction are achieved within budget constraints and schedule.
• Assume duties of technical lead and subject matter expert for small to medium capital programs.
• Provide SME design support to Project Managers on assigned construction projects.
• Provide engineering support for commissioning and installations for assigned design projects.
• Analyze electrical failure root causes and develop cost-effective technical solutions for RCAs.
