We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and play a key role in developing advanced electronic control systems including but not limited to, Flight Controls, Air Management Systems and De-Ice products for aerospace applications. In this role, you will tackle complex design challenges, contribute technical expertise across the full product lifecycle, and help shape the future of Collins Aerospace Power & Controls products.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Prior experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis, including complex logic devices.
  • Experience in designing embedded electronic controls for aerospace applications.
  • Prior experience with electronic circuit testing methodologies, and hardware / software integration.
  • System hardware / software integration test experience using LABVIEW or Test Stand.
  • Ability to work in a cross-discipline work environment interacting with design engineers, project leads, lab personnel, program managers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support electrical design activities across new product development, sustainment, production support, and field investigations.
  • Develop and evaluate design concepts, select components, create circuit schematics, perform analyses, and participate in design reviews.
  • Support printed wiring board (PWB) layout and routing efforts.
  • Plan and execute design verification testing, including test procedures, readiness reviews, lab execution, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Contribute to environmental qualification efforts (e.g., EMI, temperature, altitude, humidity).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve design challenges and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Provide input to program planning activities including schedules and budgets.
