As a Principal EH&S Specialist, you’ll support the Raytheon EH&S team’s ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts at the Dulles,VA site and support other sites in the Mid-Atlantic.

Requirements

  • Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Experience implementing EHS programs with a focus on environmental programs or initiatives
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.)
  • Experience with contractor safety management
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Must be able to work well independently and within a team environment
  • MS/MA degree in Safety, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or other related field of study

Responsibilities

  • Managing the environmental and sustainability programs (to include air emissions, refrigerant management, solid and hazardous waste)
  • Conduct annual environmental regulatory reporting activities for annual reports
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders on developing and implementing job hazard analyses (JHAs)
  • Executing initiatives, programs, reports and trainings across multiple EH&S disciplines to achieve and maintain compliance, especially relating to environmental programs
  • Auditing and evaluating current policies, procedures and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Investigating, analyzing and interpreting data from injuries, near-misses and environmental / safety concerns ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place
  • Working toward building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs
  • Position requires limited travel to support sites within the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • This job is posted as ONSITE, and is based at Raytheon’s Dulles, VA facility.
