About The Position

GFT is seeking a dedicated and Principal Drainage Engineer to join our Transportation Team in Orlando, FL. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our Orlando, FL office. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Transportation Engineering (or a related field).
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
• 15+ years of experience in drainage design for highway and roadway projects.
• Proficient in OpenRoads Designer.
• Strong knowledge of FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, and Drainage Manual.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and permitting documents.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including stormwater collection system analysis.
• Develop stormwater management designs and obtain permits in compliance with state and local regulations.
• Perform reviews of drainage designs, plans, and reports for FDOT and municipal transportation projects.
• Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and compliance with applicable FDOT standards and guidelines.
