About The Position

The Boeing Company's Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems is seeking Principal Digital Electronics Circuit & Unit Hardware Design Engineers to join their Space Digital Products & Electronics team in El Segundo, CA. This role focuses on designing and implementing cutting-edge digital circuitry for communication satellites, encompassing digital signal processing, data communication, digital control systems, and embedded systems. Engineers will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of digital components for efficient data processing and communication within satellites. The work environment is highly collaborative, described as "cradle-to-grave" in satellite development, with an on-site satellite factory and co-located electronics teams. This setup fosters strong collaboration and communication, providing access to abundant tools, resources, a comprehensive database of prior engineering work, and world-class engineers and mentors. As part of Boeing's Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems Division, the position offers continuous learning and exposure to diverse projects, including satellites, the ISS, disruptive computing, avionics, missiles, and autonomous systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret, Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 15+ years of experience with Digital Electronics, Digital Circuits, or Digital Electronics Hardware

Nice To Haves

  • 20+ years of experience with Digital Electronics, Digital Circuits, or Digital Electronics Hardware
  • Experience with Digital, Analog and Power Electronics
  • Experience with circuit design and analysis
  • Experience with Firmware, Microprocessor or other Hardware
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or other related advanced degree

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of state-of-the art digital circuit & unit hardware / digital electronics for aerospace applications
  • Electronics design, requirements and interface definition, modeling and analysis, testing, performance and design verification
  • Technical support for production and test of electronic products
  • Support projects involving Electronics design
  • Maintain detailed requirements and specifications for various electronic products
  • Leads analysis of customer and system requirements and development of architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products
  • Leads development of high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications
  • Leads reviews of testing and analysis activity to assure compliance to requirements
  • Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
  • Leads activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services
  • Coordinates engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product
  • Plans research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Possesses the ability to be the Technical Lead Engineer or Chief Engineer for the design team and for supporting design reviews
  • Leads proposal efforts to bring in more business for the organization and company
  • Leads the development of processes and tools for the organization
  • Leads the development of engineers for the organization
