About The Position

The FILI Technology team is a small, growing team in Enterprise Services. We are seeking an upbeat, hardworking Principal DevOps Engineer to join us in defining the future for our organization. We will have a focus on modernizing and building innovative cloud-native experiences, capabilities, and platforms in support of millions of customers who are seeking products that provide guaranteed income and/or protection. We are an emerging group in Fidelity with strategic financial backing. The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated solutions that streamline software development, deployment, and infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will have an expert background in cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices. The Fidelity Insurance Group (FIG) Technology team is a recently established group aimed at providing transparent solutions and support for all of FIG’s business functions. We partner with internal FIG stakeholders and multiple organizations across Fidelity, most notably the Fidelity Insurance Agency (FIA) to deliver modern solutions that scale. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles.
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Artifactory, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Expert scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Advanced monitoring and observability tool implementation (DataDog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security principles.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
  • Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS Native Services, and Serverless Technologies (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM)).
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across development and production environments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery of software.
  • Define and Implement security best practices in deployment and infrastructure.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and standards.
  • High levels of engagement at the team and group levels; Desire to learn and impact outside your primary tasking.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
