About The Position

We are looking for a Principal Developer to lead technical initiatives, drive innovation, and deliver enterprise-grade solutions. You will be working as a member of the Clinical Data Exchange & Interoperability (CDXi) Team within our innovative IT Solution Delivery organization, A Computer World Top 10 place to work in the US. This role requires strong expertise in modern development practices, cloud technologies, and healthcare interoperability standards and Healthcare Payer/Provider data exchanges. Candidates may qualify through formal education or equivalent experience.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in DevOps & Deployment practices, including OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitHub, and CI/CD automation, Jenkins, Maven and like technologies
  • Skilled in Java development, leveraging frameworks such as Quarkus and Spring Boot, along with AWS SDKs, Linux administration, and shell scripting
  • Strong grounding in security standards, including OAuth, JWT, OpenID, certificate management, and SMART on FHIR
  • Deep familiarity with FHIR frameworks, including CDex, PDex, DEQM IG, CMS Implementation Guides, and SMART on FHIR
  • Ability to work with integration and messaging technologies, including Kafka (connectors, REST proxy) and Smile CDR configuration
  • Capability in database management, specifically Aurora PostgreSQL scripting and administration
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, including AWS services (S3, Lambda) and OpenShift integrations
  • 8+ years of experience in related field. In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field.

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps Principals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert and key resource for both the engineering team and business partners, leading the analysis, design, and development of high‑volume, low‑latency applications that deliver high availability and performance.
  • Independently design, write, and maintain well‑structured, testable, and efficient code to support complex and evolving IT solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to IT specialists and developers, enabling rapid delivery of innovative solutions that meet dynamic business needs.
  • Lead DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and container orchestration to enable efficient, reliable delivery pipelines.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, architecture, DevOps, and business teams while fostering strong engineering standards and mentorship.
  • Ensure security best practices and compliance are met across development efforts and produce clear, maintainable technical documentation.
  • Design and implement scalable, modern solutions using contemporary frameworks and architectural patterns.
