We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Design Engineer – Thermal Systems who is interested in leading the development, evaluation, and execution of projects within refrigeration technology Position Principal Design Engineer – Thermal Systems COE Location USA, Louisville, KY How You'll Create Possibilities Function as an engineering leader responsible for developing optimized solutions around cost, quality, and performance within the Refrigeration Technology team. Lead execution of changes through the NPI and C-change process for refrigeration products - Develop design plans, project schedules, and evaluation plans required for successful project execution Develop and improve control algorithms for refrigerator platforms. Utilize data analysis tools to review control performance and develop parameters to meet consumer expectations. Conduct testing, validation, and verification on products, ensuring they meet conformance specifications. Analyze and interpret test data, identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to product design, manufacturing, or field quality for refrigeration products Support yield and scrap projects in the factories related to thermal systems Work with the software team to integrate parametric updates into software releases Own and maintain design documentation for all concepts, prototypes, and production configurations Lead less experienced engineers on fundamental problem-solving techniques, engineering principles, and project management skills. What You'll Bring to Our Team BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree 7 or more years of engineering experience Willingness to travel up to 15% to ensure program success and ability to hold off work hour conference calls with global suppliers Advanced computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft products and ability to grasp new systems quickly Strong project management and analytical/problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to generate/implement solutions Self-starting leader with excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills Experience with thermal systems and algorithm development Certified Reliability Practitioner or other quality certification Experience with Creo CAD software Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience working with global teams Our Culture Our work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
