About the position
The position involves leading cloud data stewardship initiatives, utilizing advanced Cloud Data Integration (CDI) and Cloud Application Integration (CAI) tools to ensure seamless data and application integration across the cloud infrastructure. The role requires leading discussions with the IT organization to establish an advanced cloud data and knowledge infrastructure, facilitating the accelerated deployment of AI-driven models for material, process, and product design. Additionally, the position entails deploying advanced data-driven and physics-based models to guide and accelerate the development of products, materials, and processes aimed at sustainable solutions and new mobility applications. The candidate will be responsible for meticulously gathering requirements from end users in business groups, analyzing and interpreting their data using advanced statistical and data mining techniques. Serving as the technical lead in strategic data management projects, the individual will design and optimize data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and data migration processes using tools such as Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) and Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC). The role also includes proposing, executing, and defending project concepts, as well as collaborating and planning model development, validation, and deployment with Freudenberg Business Groups. The candidate will take the lead in designing, developing, testing, deploying, supporting, and enhancing complex and varied automated infrastructure and platform components.
Responsibilities
- Lead cloud data stewardship initiatives using CDI and CAI tools.
- Facilitate discussions with IT for advanced cloud data infrastructure and AI model deployment.
- Deploy advanced data-driven and physics-based models for product and process development.
- Gather requirements from end users and analyze data using statistical techniques.
- Serve as the technical lead in strategic data management projects.
- Design and optimize data pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Propose and defend project concepts; collaborate on model development and deployment.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and enhance automated infrastructure and platform components.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or a master's degree in computer science, data engineering, materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, or mathematics with a focus on data engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of related work experience after bachelor's degree or 6 years after master's degree.
- Expertise in CDI and CAI with strong API development skills.
- Experience with CI/CD and automation for cloud deployments.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code and cloud infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in CDQ and CDP with a deep understanding of data quality assurance.
- Understanding of modern data architectures, cloud services (Azure), real-time data distribution and processing (Kafka, Flink), and modern data warehouse tools (SQL, Snowflake, Databricks).
