About The Position

Work within legacy and modern architectures, frameworks, and tools. Lead the team on the implementation of the technical roadmap for the domain. Partner with the Product Owner(s) to develop and continually refine a roadmap that drives technology modernization alongside business priorities. Lead teammates in the development of the customer ecosystem and technical standards based on business plan and vision. Propose and implement improvements to increase process efficiency and effectiveness, providing input to solution designs to ensure consistency, security, maintainability and flexibility. Mentor other team members in the technologies utilized on our solutions. Domestic travel required up to 5%. Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a Principal Data Engineer-related occupation.
• Demonstrable experience in MDM and Reltio MDM.
• Experience with Java, Kubernetes, Mongo Atlas, Postgres, and CI/CD.
• Proficiency in SQL, data analysis, P&C insurance knowledge, REST and API.
• Experience with Kafka, API development, and REST.
• Performance tuning APIs and software components.
• In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.
• Knowledge in data engineering languages and tools.
• Proficiency in new and emerging technologies.
• In-depth understanding of layered solutions and designs.
• In-depth understanding of shared data engineering concepts and product features, as well as security minded.
• In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies.
• In-depth understanding of global business and technology trends and the financial services industry.
• Negotiation, consensus building, influencing skills and facilitation.
