The Principal Data Center Facility Engineer at Oracle is responsible for ensuring the operation, maintenance, and efficiency of mission-critical facilities infrastructure. This role involves coordinating with internal and external teams to maintain continuous availability of power and cooling systems in the data center, which is essential for supporting customer growth and fulfilling service commitments.

  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure continuous availability of power and cooling in the data center.
  • Perform electrical switching operations safely.
  • Review MOPs and SOPs for accuracy and safety, assessing potential business impact.
  • Oversee maintenance activities to ensure they are conducted safely and correctly.
  • Adhere to Oracle change management policies.
  • Test electrical and cooling systems, identify issues, and work on solutions.
  • Support resolution of engineering incidents.
  • Oversee installation of electrical and cooling infrastructure.
  • Analyze and validate system data and reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Undertake risk assessments of supplier or partner works.
  • Schedule and track completion of preventive and corrective work items.
  • Draft scopes of work and requests for proposal for vendors and service providers.
  • Provide frequent reports on key performance indicators related to space, power, and availability.
  • Assist in developing dashboards and automation for scalable solutions.
  • Implement and track project plans in conjunction with others.
  • Participate in the development of technical and process improvements.
  • Identify potential issues and collaborate with others to ensure project success.
  • Associates degree or higher in an electrical or electronic discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in operating and maintaining Data Center facilities.
  • Journeyman electrical license or higher.
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email.
  • Detailed understanding of building electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize information and distill it into an executive summary.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
