About The Position

The Vulnerability Management Specialist is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating security vulnerabilities within the organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves working closely with various teams to ensure that vulnerabilities are properly managed and remediated in a timely manner to protect the organization's assets and data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting, troubleshooting, and administering a variety of networks, OSs, and applications.
  • Expert knowledge of data security administration principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in administering a variety of current Microsoft platforms.
  • Advanced understanding of domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures.

Nice To Haves

  • ISSM CAP, CISSP, or CISM Certification.
  • ISSE CAP, CISSP-ISSEP Certification.
  • ISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ Certification.
  • MCSE, Linux, and/or CCNP Security Certification.
  • Knowledge of DoD, government contracting and/or public auditing, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret security and technical documentation.
  • Proven track record of maintaining the confidentiality of high-sensitivity projects and data.
  • Ability to perform critical-incident response.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and scans on the organization's IT systems, networks, and applications.
  • Analyze scan results to identify security vulnerabilities and prioritize them based on risk and impact.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to develop and implement remediation plans for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Track and report on the status of vulnerability remediation efforts, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain vulnerability management policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to other teams on vulnerability management and security best practices.
  • Participate in security incident response activities as needed.
  • Conduct periodic security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal and external security standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs.
