Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Lab Test organization. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, and reach.
  • Must possess a current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification (i.e. Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated systems administration experience, to include Windows or Linux or similar environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with VMware virtual networking, VMware Horizon 8, VMware vSphere 8 and/or VMware Data Storage administration.
  • Previous cybersecurity, Information Assurance experience, and/or system administration experience.
  • Active Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
  • Active VMware Certified Professional Data Center Virtualization certification (VCP-DCV).
  • Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability.
  • Experience implementing storage allocation, reclamation, replication, and migration.
  • Knowledge of various storage systems VNX/Unity/XTREMIO.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Setting up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
  • Maintaining availability of instrumentation data network and instrumentation data center.
  • Collecting and reporting system data metrics.
  • Ensuring systems adhere to program configuration and data management plans.
  • Providing software maintenance and installing software upgrades and patches.
  • Maintaining active licenses, maintenance contracts and warranties.
