In this role, the Principal Contracts Specialist shall proactively provide support to contract management and directors of a particular in administering government, international and commercial contracts. Under the direction of leadership, they will support all aspects of contract management throughout the contracting process, from pre-proposal activities through contract closure. In performing this role, the Principal Contracts Specialist will: · Support the review and risk analysis of solicitations and terms and conditions in coordination with your supervisor. · Participate in bid/no bid decisions and proposal review meetings. · Review cost proposals, maintain cost and pricing data records for TINA compliance, support fact-finding, DCAA audits, and negotiations. · Proactively administer a variety of contracts (government/commercial, domestic/international) of all types (cost reimbursement, fixed price, incentive, award fee, IDIQ, time and material, etc.) and modifications thereto. · Prepare and coordinate business correspondence, generate required contract-related reports, and maintain accurate and complete contract files and records for the company. · Remain actively engaged with (and serve as an integral member of) designated program teams and develop strong interfaces with personnel in other functional areas. · Participate in program reviews, monitor program performance (contract schedules, deliverables, funding, invoicing, and payments), and notify contract managers or directors of potential non-compliances or other problems that could have an adverse impact on the company. · Identify and administer contract changes and coordinate resolution of contract issues with your supervisors. · Actively administer the closeout of completed contracts. · Ensure contract management activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and customer requirements. · Ensure coordination with Legal on contract matters that may have legal significance (such as, identifying to Legal non-standard or potentially high-risk terms and conditions) prior to advising management of contractual risks, rights and obligations, and terms and conditions interpretations.

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of basic contracting principles and all contract types.
  • 9 plus years’ experience with federal, commercial and some international contracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the federal acquisition process, government contracting principles and governing regulations (including FAR/DFAR).
  • Demonstrated experience in government contract administration.
  • Basic understanding of business agreements and general business practices.
  • Working knowledge of subcontracting practices, accounting, finance, pricing, and estimating principles, and business law.
  • Working knowledge of Commercial and International contract terms, ITAR, EAR and US import and export regulations.
  • Solid oral/written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Ability to manage multiple work assignments and meet critical deadlines.
  • High integrity and an unyielding commitment to compliance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Personal computer skill proficiency.
  • BA/BS degree in a related field.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Actively pursuing professional certificates in government contracts is a plus.
