About The Position

The Principal Contract Specialist at Exelon is responsible for negotiating and administering interconnection contracts, managing regulatory approvals, and overseeing contractual relationships with generators, transmission owners, and municipalities. This role serves as the primary interface between ComEd, PECO, and interconnected generation owners, ensuring successful project completion and compliance with regulatory requirements. The position requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex relationships and projects within the energy sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business and 7-10 years of relevant work experience in the Energy Industry, or 9-12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong negotiation skills and high customer focus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tariffs, regulatory, and legal issues.
  • Proven leadership ability in a high-performance culture.
  • Ability to build consensus and communicate effectively.
  • Experience in developing process enhancements and efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and administer interconnection contracts and obtain regulatory approvals.
  • Manage contractual relationships with generators, transmission owners, and municipalities.
  • Drive and coordinate activities to ensure successful transmission interconnection projects.
  • Manage progress of interconnection studies and develop cost estimates.
  • Interface with various departments to address operational and regulatory issues.
  • Conduct meetings to resolve issues and perform schedule reviews.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with joint-owned transmission facility owners.
  • Represent ComEd and PECO in regulatory interviews and industry committees.
  • Oversee the budget for joint-owned facilities and ensure proper allocation of funds.
