Our work depends on a Principal Cloud Developer joining our dynamic team to work in a fast-paced environment with engineering, migration, and operations. We’re looking for a self-starter to work both as part of the team and on individual assignments in an environment of customer mission delivery, integrity, and communications. We’re looking to fill this role with someone who currently has cloud experience, certifications, and the skills necessary to execute in large environments, is flexible and enjoys tackling challenges, and desires to join a large team that is building and sustaining a large, multi-tenant cloud platform/enterprise and migrating/expanding/automating it. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT: As a Principal Cloud Developer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our federal customers. You will play a crucial role via the following:

  • Designs, architects, deploys and maintains cloud solutions
  • Maintains the integrity and security of systems
  • Maintains all documentations
  • Supports and develops automation
  • Develops in languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python
  • Maintains/enhances knowledge of AWS cloud services
  • Monitors and tunes the cloud systems to achieve optimum performance levels
  • Works across teams and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams during infrastructure buildouts
  • Deals with escalations. Makes assessments, recommendations, or provides solutions to resolve issues
  • Composes and maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions, knowledge articles, et al
  • Technical Training, Certificate, or Degree required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant computer-based major strongly preferred
  • Principal Level: 5+ years of related experience with AWS cloud computing required
  • 7+ years of total IT experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Bash, PowerShell, or Python
  • Development background in Node.JS and React.JS
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers) to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Design and implement data processing and integration solutions using ETL tools
  • Experience with application using serverless architecture and/or containerization
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization
  • Must be able to pass a background check to obtain and maintain a position of Public Trust
  • Must be US Person (Green Card Holder, US Permanent Resident Alien, Refugee, Asylee, US Citizen)
