About The Position

The Principal Cloud and AI Architect at Johnson Controls is responsible for leading the design and implementation of intelligent building solutions through advanced data engineering and analytics. This role focuses on creating automated data pipelines, developing scalable architectures, and integrating AI capabilities to enhance product offerings. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment of analytics solutions that meet business requirements while promoting innovation and efficiency.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in technical solution architecture, focusing on data engineering and analytics.
• 3+ years of experience with Cloud and IoT solutions development.
• 5+ years of experience with Python, NodeJS, and SQL for developing microservices.
• Experience in providing technical leadership and architectural improvements for AI and ML processes.
• Experience with scalable infrastructure for model training and deployment using tools like Microsoft Azure Databricks.
• Experience developing conversational AI agents using OpenAI and Azure services.
• Strong hands-on skills in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.

Nice To Haves

• 10+ years of total experience in technical solution consulting and sales.
• 5+ years of experience with Cloud and IoT solutions development.
• Experience with LLMops solutions for generative AI.
• Proficiency in implementing data security measures within the Snowflake platform.
• Cloud certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure AI Engineer Associate.

Responsibilities

• Own the Open Blue AI Engineering solutions architecture roadmap and execution strategy.
• Translate business requirements into reference architectures for productionizing analytics solutions.
• Experiment with new technologies and propose innovative solutions.
• Coordinate with product and engineering teams to ensure timely integration and delivery of analytics solutions.
• Create and streamline workflows for fast experimentation of analytics solutions.
• Lead by example and mentor team members in best software engineering practices.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies for onboarding potential vendors and automating data workflows.
• Architect and develop reference architecture for operationalizing machine learning and AI solutions.
