Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering design
At least 8 years of experience in support of nuclear facilities or designs
Proficient knowledge of IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC codes and standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer proficiency with tools relevant to structural design and documentation.

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineering License and the ability to obtain PE licenses in multiple states
Familiarity with MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and SolidWorks
Proficiency with RISA-3D, RISA Connection, and RISA Foundation
Experience with federal projects for DOE, DoD, or Hanford facilities
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with clients and regulatory agencies

Responsibilities

Lead structural analysis and design of steel structures, equipment supports, foundations, anchorage and other related systems.
Ensure compliance with Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and nuclear facility design requirements in accordance with NQA-1 and ASCE, AISC, and ACI codes.
Prepare, review, and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and other design documentation.
Review and interpret customer design criteria to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and design personnel.
Conduct field walkdowns, site investigations, and provide construction support during installation and commissioning.
Perform design reviews and constructability assessments to improve project execution quality.
Support preparation of proposals, estimates, and technical reports.
Evaluate and apply broad engineering principles and judgement to solve complex design problems.
Manage multiple projects of moderate to large scope or lead major project segments.
Advance company design processes and quality procedures.
Mentor junior engineers and support professional development across the team.
