Toole Design Group in Portland, ME is looking to hire an experienced and talented full-time Principal Civil Engineer. As a Principal Engineer, you will lead and mentor an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment. You use programs like AutoCAD in order to fulfill production work on your projects as needed and/or supervise others doing that production work. You will manage projects and guide your team through design development, design review, bid package development, permitting, and answering questions during construction. You will work with your team to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality. You’ll be at the table with clients and colleagues from a variety of disciplines, delivering projects to construction. You will play a key role in implementing the firm’s quality initiatives and in supporting business development and project pursuits. In an industry that is constantly changing, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering creative solutions to challenging projects. We are targeting a salary range of $175,000-$200,000 for this position. This full-time position typically works a hybrid schedule of 40 hours a week with three days in the office.
