About The Position

The City of San Marcos is recruiting for a qualified Principal Civil Engineer to lead the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Engineering Division of the Development Services Department. Historically one of the fastest growing cities in San Diego County, this is an exciting time to be a part of the City of San Marcos. San Marcos is purposefully shaping its emerging community, and as Principal Civil Engineer in the Capital Improvement Program, you will help guide that legacy. Hiring Incentive: San Marcos offers competitive benefits, including a $10,000 Hiring Incentive for the Principal Civil Engineer, payable to new recruits joining the City upon successful completion of a satisfactory 6-month performance evaluation.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related field
• Six years of increasingly responsible, professional civil engineering experience, including two years of project management, administrative, and/or supervisory responsibility
• Possession of a valid California Certificate of Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer
• Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
