An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Principal Chemical Engineer within the Technical Services Department of UOP's Lifecycle Solutions and Technologies (LST) business unit located in Des Plaines, IL. This position plays a key role in completing the transfer of UOP's technology to keep UOP-licensed or UOP-designed units operating safely & profitably. There is regular interaction with UOP's external customers and with UOP. Use your chemical engineering experience to enhance Honeywell's products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 8+ years of petrochemical industry experience
  • Experience with at least one of the following UOP technologies: Parex, MX Sorbex, Sulfolane, Tatoray, Isomar, Molex, and LAB complex technologies

  • 15+ years of petrochemical industry experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Effective problem solving and commercial unit troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle a multitude of tasks concurrently
  • Be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point for office-based support of new unit and revamped unit startups, from pre-commissioning through guarantee acceptance
  • Participate in engineering design and safety review meetings for new units and revamps to provide startup, shutdown, and operational perspective
  • Participate in R&D technology improvement projects
  • Review, analyze, and provide feedback on commercial unit operating data
  • Provide both office-based and on-site troubleshooting assistance and operating reviews for commercial units
  • Prepare and update general operating manuals and training materials, and present UOP technology training courses both in the US and abroad
  • Support digital transformation efforts, particularly as it relates to operating data evaluation, operational benchmarking, and startup and operations knowledge retention and transfer
