Role Profile As the Principal, Business Development based in our Seattle studio, you will play a vital role in expanding Unispace’s presence in the region through meaningful client relationships, strategic planning, and innovative approaches to identifying new opportunities. You are passionate about delivering results, developing long-term partnerships, and fostering a collaborative culture that drives success. You'll need a strong network in the Commercial Real Estate sector to be successful in this role, and will need to demonstrate this throughout the hiring process. In this position, you will position our Seattle studio and team as industry leaders while promoting inclusivity, creativity, and growth. You will be instrumental in navigating complex markets and leveraging your local expertise to drive business growth targets.

Requirements

  • Market Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the Seattle market, including local industry trends and the regional client landscape.
  • Proven Growth Track Record: A strong history of achieving business growth targets and building lasting, high-value client relationships.
  • Strategic Business Development: Proven experience in lead generation, client-facing relationship management, and executing complex BD strategies.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage and coach a diverse team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Communication Impact: A natural relationship builder who excels at communicating with impact and influencing others.
  • Agility & Resilience: Strong business acumen and the organizational agility to navigate complex markets with creativity and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Expansion: Develop and execute a localized business development strategy for the Seattle region that aligns with our global goals.
  • Relationship & Network Mapping: Actively map and track client relationships, leveraging past connections and industry insights to foster strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with target clients and industry leaders.
  • Lead Management & Analysis: Conduct lead source analysis and implement effective lead management strategies to ensure a robust pipeline.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, design, and delivery teams to develop insights and analytics, ensuring our solutions are holistic and aligned with company strategy.
  • Global Integration: Partner with the Global Business Development team to identify and nurture cross-regional client opportunities.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Build, coach, and mentor a high-performing local business development team, developing their expertise in networking, research, and client intelligence.
  • Innovative Client Engagement: Implement creative approaches to attract prospective clients and lead research projects or events that reflect the Unispace brand.
  • Operational Excellence & CRM: Promote a data-driven culture by ensuring accurate information is maintained in the CRM and aligning local studio standards with global practices.
  • Risk & Sustainability Advocacy: Collaborate on local risk management plans and drive measurable progress in CSR initiatives that reflect our commitment to sustainability and inclusivity.
