What is The Role
Kibana is the UI and frontend for everything we do at Elastic. It is the application platform that powers our Elastic Observability, Security, and Search Solutions. It provides building blocks and user experiences that delight our users, accelerate development, and optimize our operations. Deployed both in the cloud and on-premises, it is one of the largest open-source projects, used to answer millions of complex questions with large data sets at scale.
If you are a very strong JavaScript backend developer looking for new and hard backend challenges, you will want to hear more about this role. We are looking for a top Engineer who wants to drive and implement complex technical solutions in the Alerting and Reporting Engines area.

What You Will Be Doing
You will contribute to the development of our hosted and on-premise offerings.
You'll be part of a close-knit team of phenomenal engineers who mentor, support, and challenge each other.
You will implement technical solutions that underpin Kibana Alerting and Reporting success and the Observability and Security solutions, while collaborating with other Operations, Engineering, and Documentation teams.
Assist in delivering and supporting a highly scalable cloud offering.
Work on a codebase that consists primarily of APIs and server-side frameworks.
What You Bring
7+ years of backend design & development experience
Seasoned and confident engineer with JavaScript, Typescript, and Node.js.
Experience with platform and SaaS engineering
Excellent understanding of distributed systems
Technical leadership and mentoring experience
Ability to work with a worldwide team in a distributed work environment
Passionate about JavaScript or web development in general
