Capital One’s GEA RISE team is looking for a Project Manager to lead and support substantive and significant work that has material impact on the mission, identity, and strategic goals of the enterprise. This candidate will join GEA’s Command Center as a Project Manager in their PMO function, a best-in-class project delivery team that helps GEA deliver on its highest priority work using an adaptive project management approach. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in project management, process management, project delivery or any combination of the three

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with nonprofits or start ups on large-scale social impact projects
  • Formal project management certifications

Responsibilities

  • Taking mission-aligned opportunities for Capital One and making them a reality through execution
  • Working with early-life cycle opportunities, adding definition to their scope and objectives to turn them into tangible and purposeful delivery opportunities
  • Managing large and small scale projects that have been prioritized by the organization from start to end
  • Establishing well managed governance and operational efficiencies for projects, including facilitating their progress, maintaining the motivation of the project teams and keeping stakeholders aligned toward project scope to accomplish work
  • Serving as a project management subject matter expert in GEA to ensure strategic initiatives are well-managed and enable project teams to collaborate and deliver intended outcomes
  • Identifying ways to plan, design, manage and improve project plans and processes while integrating various project components into project management processes that enable clarity, identification of roadblocks and risk mitigation
  • Influencing and motivating a broad array of internal partners to collaborate with GEA in growing and demonstrating Capital One’s corporate identity and mission orientation to external communities
  • Serving as a strategic advisor supporting the day-to-day and longer-term objectives of the GEA organization, as well as building and maintaining buy-in for change throughout the company
