About The Position

The Retail Managing Data Steward Team at Capital One offers a unique opportunity to partner with the Bank data community, acting as a subject matter expert to provide education and guidance toward enterprise data policy compliance. We use data analytics to inform our priorities and modernization efforts. Our group is driving a culture change where data management is top of mind for our associates, and you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in making this happen. You will not only identify risks but also drive risk mitigation efforts, ensuring our data is registered, protected, and secure. As a Principal Associate of Process Management, you will operate autonomously within the immediate scope and act as a subject matter expert. You will focus on ensuring the Bank is well-managed and compliant with our Information Data Management policy, with a special attention to Early Warning Services (EWS) processes and relationships. You'll monitor external data shares to measure effectiveness and install necessary safeguards or thresholds. By influencing peers and effectively communicating with leadership, you will educate and gain buy-in from key stakeholders concerning control execution. You may participate in audits that require subject matter expertise and urgency.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence partners across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and have the ability to adapt to change quickly.
  • Apply project management frameworks across the entire project lifecycle, and possess a solid grasp of process management concepts and agile methodologies.
  • The ability to be Technology fluent (or conversational) with a comfort level working in a technology world.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in Process management.
  • 4+ years of experience in Project management.
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a data management role within a data management organization.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage subject matter expertise to develop, maintain, and streamline process documentation, driving continuous improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Proactively engage with internal customers to understand their needs, gather requirements, and drive process improvements that are aligned with broader organizational goals.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement solutions, proactively identifying gaps and offering options where appropriate.
  • Track, problem-solve, and resolve process breakdowns.
  • Navigate between day-to-day work and transformative project work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Serve as a process subject matter expert to internal and external teams.
  • Support Early Warning Services data contributions, control execution, processes and stakeholder relationship.
  • Help monitor Early Warning Services file shares and support trouble-shooting, where needed.
  • Lead smaller process improvement work and collaborate with teammates on larger initiatives.
