About The Position

Principal Associate - Card Accounting We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Card Accounting team as a Principal Associate. You will be a member of a high-performing team with a focus on evolving our financial processes alongside new business initiatives and product launches. You will bring a risk-centric mindset to govern important financial processes and ensure financial results are reported completely and accurately. Your role will provide an opportunity to present financial analysis, technical accounting impacts and more to executive stakeholders and partner with Financial Planning, Corporate Development and others to drive appropriate accounting and reporting in our external filings and internal reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting, or Audit or Finance or a combination

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 5+ years of experience supervising a team of individuals in an accounting or audit department
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Audit

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accounting-related activities, such as journal entries and reconciliations, and support and prepare external SEC and regulatory reports, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadership
  • Engage in and help lead specialized projects related to the Card line of business
  • Perform technical accounting research on new business initiatives
  • Manage relationships with Finance and key business partners, associates throughout the controller’s group, tax, and external and internal auditors
  • Review analytics and reporting of financial performance for key stakeholders and management
  • Ensure accounting and reporting practices and documentation are performed in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Lead key corporate projects within your assigned areas such as technology and data transformation, process improvement, and business initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and stay connected on process or product changes
  • Provide support for audit, risk and compliance groups when necessary
