About The Position

At SiFive, we are at the forefront of innovation, having pioneered the introduction of RISC-V to the world. Our mission is to transform the future of computing by harnessing the limitless potential of RISC-V for the most demanding and data-intensive applications. As a Principal Architect, you will play a crucial role in our Performance Series Product (PSP) team, which is dedicated to creating silicon that can be developed at the speed of software. The SiFive Performance™ family empowers our customers with the flexibility to configure processors that meet their specific power, area, and performance requirements, ranging from highly efficient application processors to fully featured, superscalar designs capable of running Linux. In this role, you will serve as both a PSP architect and an SoC architect, responsible for designing new, highly configurable SoC designs based on the open-source RISC-V ISA. You will have the opportunity to utilize cutting-edge electronic design automation (EDA) tools, leveraging modern compiling technology to create SiFive's SoC and core library. Your work will involve designing chips for a variety of exciting applications, including autonomous driving, 5G networking, wearables, and IoT. At SiFive, you will have the unique opportunity to accelerate chip design and verification processes, reducing timelines from months to weeks, enabling faster innovation and deployment. As a Principal Architect, you will be responsible for designing scalable chip architectures that integrate various components into customizable chips. You will also play a key role in developing a multicore platform that connects multiple cores on a chip, supporting high bandwidth and new applications. Your responsibilities will include researching and analyzing emerging needs for new PSP architecture, interfacing with customers to tailor SoCs to their specific requirements, and collaborating with Fortune 500 companies and innovative startups to brainstorm and troubleshoot SoC designs. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about driving innovation and making a significant impact in the world of chip design.
