About The Position

As a Principal Architect in the Service Provider Group (SPG), you will be the practice lead for one of the key Technology focus areas we specialize in. The Principal Architect will be the Subject Matter Expert responsible for leading and mentoring teams of pre and post sales engineers. YOUR IMPACT Job Responsibilities: The Principal Architect-Routing will be responsible for research, design and development of complex routing designs for our Service Provider clients. Research, design and develop repeatable solutions to support applicable customer architecture needs Be an escalation point for Engineers, Sr. Engineers, Consultants, Sr. Consultants and Architects Work with internal management and strategy teams on development and delivery of relevant solution bundles Engage applicable manufacturers and their engineering resources for design assistance and lab access Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to drive ePlus sales of applicable technology Meet with key vendors to stay current on products and technologies Maintain Major Routing vendor certifications (Cisco/Nokia/Juniper) Work on achieving additional relevant certifications that would benefit the Architect role Provide Sales Engineering support, BOM creation, and SOW preparation for complex multi-vendor solutions Work with the Services Director and the National Practice Leads to develop standardized assessment, delivery and testing documentation to be used by ePlus nationally, for delivery of repeatable services Serve the customer and account needs to ePlus standards Perform additional relevant tasks, as required Your Corporate Responsibilities: Internal Control responsibilities vary by role and are subject to change. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of hands-on Service Provider experience
  • 5+ years of experience performing in a Consultant or Architect role
  • Multiple industry-recognized certifications, e.g.: CCIE, JNCIE VCP, NACP, CISSP
  • Excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in-person
  • Excellent presentation and documentation skills
  • Thorough business understanding including costing , P&L and pricing
  • Good communication skills and a professional demeanor
  • Ability to think and come up with solutions quickly
  • Must be fully knowledgeable and able to design and plan, implement and support IT solutions using three or more of the following technologies, as applicable to specific focus area: Virtualization Networking (BGP/MPLS/IGP) DWDM/ROADM PON/FTTX NetDevOps Automation
