Role description: Arcadis is seeking a Principal, in Architecture and Urbanism – Data Centers to expand the Mission Critical and Industrial Facilities practice across the US. Reporting to the Mission Critical and Industrial Facilities Practice Group Manager, this role emphasizes leadership, strategic business development, and brand elevation within the national data center and mission critical projects market. The candidate will play a key role in driving Arcadis' outward-facing strategy to achieve growth and increase market visibility. The ideal candidate for the position is a recognized market leader in data center and mission critical market, with a proven track record in business development and project management.

Requirements

• Degree in Architecture with a professional registration
• Minimum 15+ years of light industrial architecture experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the data center and mission critical projects, including growth practices
• Proven business development capabilities in key US markets
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple project pursuits simultaneously.
• Knowledge of sustainability principles, including LEED accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global and regional leadership (Global Industrial Practice Group Director, Market Strategists, Business Unit Directors) to create an annual business development strategy aligned with growth goals.
• Lead the communication and execution of business strategies across the US
• Set business development targets alongside Practice Group Managers.
• Lead client capture plans and pre-marketing initiatives to secure projects.
• Develop strong relationships with existing and new clients, fostering long-term partnerships.
• Drive proposal development and interview preparation for RFQs and RFPs.
• Implement global and national growth strategies to expand the practice.
• Mentor future leaders within the organization to ensure continuity in client relationships and leadership roles.

• The salary range for this position is $113,000 - $193,000.
• Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
