Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior or Principal Animator in gaming or interactive media.
• Mastery of Spine 2D – structure management, rigging, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of animation principles and gameplay integration.
• Excellent collaboration, organization, and mentoring skills.
• Passion for creating beautiful, high-quality, and performant animations.

Nice To Haves

• iGaming or mobile game experience.
• Familiarity with Unity or animation scripting.
• Experience developing animation guidelines and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and uphold Playnetic’s animation direction and visual style.
• Analyze game documentation and translate mechanics into motion.
• Collaborate with the Animation Director and team for style consistency.
• Create advanced animations — characters, effects, and key gameplay moments.
• Prepare drafts, animatics, and storyboards when needed.
• Develop and maintain animation guidelines and the Spine Master File.
• Assign and review tasks, keeping previews and documentation up to date.
• Work closely with Developers, Audio, and QA for smooth integration.
• Support and mentor animators, reviewing work and providing feedback.
• Encourage creativity and help the team grow in skill and consistency.
• Demonstrate deep expertise in Spine 2D and animation optimization.
• Ensure animations meet technical, visual, and performance standards.
• Identify, report, and resolve animation or visual defects.
