About The Position

Highly visible, hands-on leadership role at GD-OTS with an opportunity to contribute to the success of the finance organization through providing technical accounting expertise and performing financial reporting functions for consolidated OTS within a growing environment. Key advisor for the accounting support function and training for all operating locations. Ensure accuracy, integrity, and efficiency across finance, and collaborate closely with key stakeholders to support long-term organizational success. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, analyzes, and reviews financial statements using accounting principles.
  • Keeps records of account entries by compiling and analyzing accounting activities.
  • Prepares reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents that project the organization's financial position.
  • Reviews financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Oversees accounting operations, or a complex segment of the accounting function.
  • Coordinates accounting matters with other departments.
  • Prepares periodic financial statements required for external reporting.
  • Collects and analyzes financial data, ensuring that all reporting is in compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines.
  • Prepares internal reports as required.
  • Researches accounting rules and regulations and makes recommendations regarding company policy.
  • May provide support and assistance to external auditors
