  • Perform complex and specialized accounting, ensuring all activities, reports, and procedures for the Financial Accounting Division follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
  • Review and analyze accounting records to identify sources of financial report discrepancies; assist, discuss, and resolve questions and problems in the Financial Accounting Division as needed.
  • Reconcile all external and internal investment managers to the custodial bank and manager statements to accurately account for investment earnings.
  • Compile, manage, and reconcile various monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external use.
  • Analyze all investment data to prepare information for allocations to the custodian for all investments across our multiple pool portfolios.
  • Assist in compiling, preparing, and interpreting data required to complete the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and Treasurer's Annual Report, as well as implementing additional continuous accounting practices.
  • Develop and maintain formal procedures in the Financial Accounting Division's job duties spreadsheet for all duties assigned to this position; serve as a backup for positions in the Financial Accounting Division as needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance).
  • 1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Accounting Analyst OR 4-7 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Accounting Analyst.
  • Knowledge of investment accounting principles and policies.
  • Knowledge of investment accounting systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of complex investment strategies including equities, fixed income, alternatives, and derivatives.
